Oasis Naming Ceremony - November 30, 2009

The official naming ceremony for the Oasis of the Seas will take place Nov. 30 in Fort Lauderdale during a one night inaugural celebration. In his blog, RCCL Chairman Richard Fain revealed that Oasis of the Seas will have seven godmothers, one for each neighborhood: Central Park, Boardwalk, the Royal Promenade, Pool & Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center, Entertainment Place and Youth Zone.
The one-night cruise will be a grand charity event for the Make-A-Wish Foundation®, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. Royal Caribbean has donated 1,000 staterooms to this foundation. The event symbolizes Royal Caribbean’s ongoing support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Since 2000, the cruise line has hosted more than 1,300 children who wished to go on a cruise to destinations around the world.
